This festive Christmas Beer Sangria is perfect for all the beer lovers in your family.
Festival holiday cocktail featuring fresh apple cider, vodka, Christmas beer and fresh cranberries and oranges.
If you love a festive beer during the holidays, you are going to love this Christmas Beer Sangria. Sangria doesn't have to limited to just wine! Beer makes a wonderful sangria.
After attending the Beer Bloggers & Writers Conference earlier this year, I have been developing recipes using beer. I left the conference feeling inspired to get creative in the kitchen.
I have had a lot of fun experimenting in the kitchen with craft beers. From baking to crafting holiday cocktail, I have found a love for using craft beer in my recipes.
Ingredients for Beer Sangria
- 2 Cups Apple Cider
- ½ Cup Vodka
- ⅓ Cup Pure Maple Syrup
- 1 Pomegranate, arils {seeds}removed
- ½ Cup Cranberries
- 2 Apples, sliced
- 1 Orange, sliced
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 6 Bottles of Christmas Ale
For this recipe, I used Lagunitas Brown Shugga Ale. Since I avoid consuming honey, finding a Christmas ale was a little difficult since many of the Christmas ales on the market are brewed with honey.
Luckily Lagunitas Brown Shugga Ale is brewed with brown cane sugar. You can definitely use your favorite Christmas ale for this recipe! There are so many great festival ales on the market these days.
The base of the sangria is apple cider and vodka. I love adding apple cider to cocktails, especially during the holidays.
I love adding fresh apples, oranges slices, and cranberries to this festive Christmas Beer Sangria.
Unlike traditional wine based sangrias, you want to wait and add the beer until you are ready to serve the sangria.
The sangria base of apple cider, vodka, and fruits can be made a few hours in advance of serving.
When you are ready to serve, pour in the beer.
I was able to fit all six beers into my large pitcher, which is one the larger side. If your pitcher isn't quite a large, you might not need all six bottles of beer.
