Valentine’s Day has a very special place in my heart. Growing up, I looked forward to receiving Valentine’s Day cards from my family. My parents would always hand select a Hallmark Greeting Cards for the holiday. I always looked forward to opening the envelope and seeing the Valentine’s Day card that they hand selected for me.
My family instilled a love for gifting cards; something that I truly appreciate. I love receiving card, but there is just something so special about hand selecting a card for a loved one. My favorite way to gift a Valentine's Day card is over a romantic Valentine's Day dinner date at home. When it comes to celebrating Valentine's Day, I prefer to stay in than go out to dinner. I have compiled my favorite tips on how to host a romantic date night at home.
Creating a Romantic Ambience
When hosting a romantic date night at home, I think it's important to create a romantic ambience throughout the house. First I like to set the mood by selecting romantic dinner music. Something that we both will enjoy listening to. If your significant other is a big record fan, be sure to check out Hallmark Vinyl Cards, which can be found in the card selection at your local Walmart. You can choose from three different versions. I love that each includes an actual vinyl record with a song on each side for your significant other. It would be so romantic to exchange Hallmark Vinyl Cards and then listen to the song!
I always like to have fresh flowers around the house. I think this adds an extra special element to the romantic setting.
Thirdly, candles are very important to any romantic dinner. Choose an aromatic scent that both of you will enjoy. Spread the candles throughout your dinner space to create a romantic dinner experience.
Recipes perfect for date night
I have a few favorite recipes that I love to make for a special romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. To start the dinner, I like to serve a glass of wine. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I love opening up a bottle of red wine. Just make sure that your date is a fan of wine and drinks alcohol!
For the main course, my absolute favorite romantic dinner date recipe is my Creamy Vegan Penne alla Vodka. It is so rich, creamy, and decadent! A simple cashew cream adds a decadence to the sauce. Plus, it is easy to make and you don’t have to spend all your time in the kitchen!
I love exchanging our Hallmark Signature Cards over our romantic dinner. Giving a loved one a Hallmark Signature Card is perfect way of expressing how much they mean to you
After exchanging Hallmark Signature Cards, it is time for dessert! One of my favorite desserts to make for a Valentine’s dinner date is my Vegan Tres Leches Cake. The best part about this cake is that you make it the day before. No need to stress out in the kitchen the day you are having your romantic dinner date!
