Just because you are on vacation, doesn't mean that you have to give up your healthy lifestyle! If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World soon, you'll be able to maintain your healthy and active lifestyle while on vacation. Since Disney World is one of my favorite places to travel to, I have learned some tips over the years on how to stay healthy and active.

    walk everywhere

If you've been to Walt Disney World, you probably already know that you'll be walking a lot. It is easy to reach your 10,000 steps while walking around the parks! I like wearing my Fitbit to keep track of all the miles walked each day. The miles add up quickly!

    Running Trails

A few of the Disney World Resorts offer running  trails. The trails are a great way to get an early morning run in before hitting the parks! Just remember to pack your running shoes.

    Participate in a runDisney Event

Speaking of running, a fun way to have an active vacation is to participate in a runDisney event. I would love to run another Disney half marathon. It was so much fun being apart of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon a few years ago. Running through the parks was the best experience. Have you ever participated in a runDisney event?

    Pool Day

Over the years, I have learned that it's important to schedule a pool day between park days. If your schedule allows for it, a pool day is the perfect for to relax and enjoy the resort. Swimming is a great way to have a fun workout while on vacation!

    Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is important everyday, but especially when you are at the Disney Parks. Buying bottled water at the parks can really add up; plus, it's not great for the environment. My tip is to bring in your own water bottle and use the drinking fountains to fill up your water bottle.

    bike rentals

Take the whole family on a Surrey bike ride! Renting a Surrey bike is a fun activity that the whole family will love. You can choose a 2- or 4-person Surrey bike at one of the Surrey bike rental locations. I love riding along Disney's Boardwalk.

    play a round of golf

If you love golf, be sure to schedule a tee time at one of Disney's golf courses. Experience the beauty and magic at one of Disney's championship golf courses. Golfing is a fun way to stay fit and active on your Disney World Vacation. Golfing is a great way to spend your day when you aren't in the parks.

    fitness centers

A few of the resorts at Disney World have their own fitness centers. If you are looking for a gym workout, be sure to check out the resorts that offer fitness centers. Not all of the resorts at Disney World offer gyms. If your resort doesn't have a fitness center, you can always do a quick body weight workout in your room!

    Healthy Snack Time

I always like to keep a few healthy snacks in my bag. I often find myself getting hungry a few hours before our dining reservation. Carrying a few healthy snacks in my bag comes in very handy for when I get hungry. I like to bring trail mix for a quick and easy snack. I always have to stop by Starbucks and get my daily coffee. This is the perfect time to enjoy a quick snack!

    Balance and Moderation

This is my favorite tip. When I am traveling, eating and trying new things is a major part of my trip. I think that it's important to have a moderation mindset when traveling. A vacation just isn't that fun if you are too worried about calories.
