Halloween Favorite Recipe
Every Halloween, I love to make mummy hot dogs. Everyone loves them and they are fun to make. Even the kids can help wrap the hot dogs in the crescent dough. My son loves helping in the kitchen and loves helping make the mummy dogs!
We are basically making pigs in a blanket but adding a spooky Halloween twist.
Hot dogs are wrapped in strips of crescent rolls and wrapped like mummies. I like to use a pizza cutter to cut the crescent dough into strips.
These Halloween spooky hot dogs and the viral Pillsbury Halloween cookies are a staple at our Halloween party!
Why you'll love it:
🖤 Festive- They make a fun, festive treat that kids and adults will both love.
🖤 Easy to make- mummy dogs don't require too much effort to make.
🖤 Kid-friendly- kids will love these festive hot dogs!
Ingredients
You'll need to following:
- Crescent rolls- you can use wither the regular crescent dough or the crescent roll sheets. I prefer to use Pillsbury crescent rolls.
- Hot Dogs- feel free to use your favorite hot dogs. If you are vegetarian or vegan, this recipe works great with vegan hot dogs too.
- Mustard/Ketchup- I like to serve them with ketchup and mustard. I also use a small dot of ketchup or mustard to make the eyes. You can also use candy eyes for the mummy eyes. Just wait to add the candy eyes until the mummy dogs have finished cooking.

- First pre-heat the oven to 375 F.
- Unroll 1 can of crescent dough. Separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal, making 4 rectangles. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.
- Use a pizza cutter or knife and cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough.
- Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog to look like mummy bandages. About ½ inch from the top of each hot dog, separate the dough so hot dog shows through for the mummy’s face. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown. Use mustard or ketchup, draw features on "face." Or you can you use candy eyes.
