I have been a big fan of Karen Page's books for awhile now. When I found out that she had a new book, Kitchen Creativity: Unlocking Culinary Genius–With Wisdom, Inspiration, and Ideas from the World’s Most Creative Chefs, I couldn't wait to get my copy! You can win you own copy of Kitchen Creativity. Enter the giveaway at the end of the post!

Kitchen Creativity by Karen Page book review
Kitchen Creativity focuses on how you can get creative in the kitchen. If you are looking for tips on how to cook without following a specific step by step recipes, this book is for you! Kitchen Creativity isn't a recipe book; it's more of a guide on how you be creative in the kitchen and put your own unique spin on recipes.

Part I of the book is divided into three different stages: mastery, alchemy, and creativity.

    Stage 1: Mastery

This stage focuses on acquiring the knowledge, skill, and control you need to have in the kitchen. It is important to learn from the masters before experimenting on your own.

    stage 2: Alchemy

This stage focuses on revisiting the classic dishes, while developing your own style. After you have mastered the basic cooking knowledge and skills, you can use flavor to enhance and better your dish.

    stage 3: Creativity

Once you have learned and copied the classic dishes, you are now ready to apply your knowledge and create new unique dishes of your own.

In part II of Kitchen Creativity, you'll find list of ideas to inspire creativity in your kitchen. You'll find a wide range of topics in this section. Being creative in the kitchen is one of my favorite things. I am often inspired by my travels and local, seasonal ingredients. I love heading to the farmers market and creating recipes based on the seasonal produce available.

Kitchen Creativity is for anyone who is looking to get more creative in the kitchen. Whether you are an aspiring chef, food blogger, or seasoned cook, this book is a great resource for you. Even though this book isn't vegan or vegetarian, it is a great addition to your cookbook collection. If you haven't read Karen Page's The Vegetarian Flavor Bible, I highly recommend checking it out!

I am so excited to be giving away one copy of Kitchen Creativity! To enter all you have to do is follow @Thymeandlove on Instagram and Facebook. Then leave a comment {with a valid e-mail address} telling me how you like to great creative in the kitchen! The giveaway ends Thursday, December 28th. The giveaway is limited to U.S. Residents only.
