Pig Minds Brewing is an all Vegan brewery located in Machesney Park, Illinois. It is the perfect spot to stop at on a vegan road trip through the Midwest!
I have a long list of vegan-friendly restaurants that I would love to visit one day. It seems that the list gets longer, which is great because that means that there are more vegan restaurants opening up! Discovering vegan restaurants is one of my favorite parts about traveling.
As someones who loves craft beer, I was so excited when I found out that there is a 100% vegan brewery that was located in Illinois.
Last summer, I was able to stop at Pig Minds Brewery on my way home from Madison, Wisconsin. Visiting Pig Minds Brewery has been high on my vegan restaurant bucket list for awhile now.
We stopped at Pig Minds Brewery for a late lunch on the way home to Michigan. We were traveling with our pug Phoebe, so we sat outside on the patio. I love when restaurants are dog-friendly.
I was so excited to finally be able to experience an all vegan brewery!
I ordered the beer flight—which included all 10 beers on the menu! I love ordering beer flights because it's a great way to try all the different beers on the menu.
It was so hard deciding what to order! The oyster mushroom po'boy sandwich called my name. The sandwich had breaded oyster mushrooms, tomato, lettuce, a spicy remoulade sauce all on top of a french roll.
The French roll was some of the best bread that I've had in a long time.
I loved that that they didn't hold back on the spice. The remoulade sauce had a really nice spicy kick to it!
The oyster mushrooms were perfectly breaded with cornmeal. I highly recommend ordering this sandwich!
Hector ordered the patty melt for his entree. I love a good vegan version of a retro diner favorite. This vegan patty melt had the Impossible Burger with garlic aioli, caramelized onions, and vegan cheeze.
He also ordered vegan mac n'cheese as a side. He loved the mac n'cheese. He said it was some of the best mac n'cheese that he has ever had.
If you are traveling through Illinois and Wisconsin on your next Midwest road trip, I highly recommend stopping at Pig Minds Brewery.
Even if you aren't a craft beer fan, the food is worth stopping for!
